The high school football season fired up this past weekend with most teams having a few weeks of practice under their belt. That's not the case for many junior programs, though they likely started practice as soon as they could when the final bell of the first day rang.

Sometimes in life, and sport, there is no better way to learn something that being thrown into the fire. That's why the Kerrobert Football Association hosted a junior football jamboree this past Saturday, six towns in attendance (some with enough players for multiple teams) to get the local junior season started with a bang

Reaching out to the lead for all things Kerrobert Rebels football, head coach of the team Troy Snider confirmed that the above towns were in attendance with local players from Grades 6-8. The format consisted of each team playing a one hour mini-game, and with the late start, everyone managed to get a game in under the lights.

While it's a down year for numbers, the junior Rebels can expect to fill up once again in the near future with the community's flag football program seeing a terrific turnout for the first practice.

Three practices in September will set up Kerrobert flag football players for a jamboree in Macklin on September 29, another in Unity on October 5, before Kerrobert hosts one of their own on October 11.

From flag, to junior, to high school and beyond, it's football season across all levels. Keep an eye out on social media for any games coming your way, the next six weeks into the fall set to be loaded up with action on the gridiron.
