It's that time of year again to lace up the running shoes, get some donations, and head down to George Lane Memorial Park for the Terry Fox Run.
The annual event hits the 45-year mark on Sunday, Sept. 14.
High River's Brenda McReadie, who's been organizing the run for the last 11 years, is looking forward to it.
"It is! It's coming up fast at group site B, and thanks to the Lions for donating that spot again."
You've probably seen all the lawn signs she's placed throughout High River.
You might've seen some of the powerful television commercials, too.
McReadie encourages you to come support raising funds for cancer.
"There is no pre-registration. You can register online, or you can just come that morning, and we'll fill out all the paperwork for you. There's no fee, but we strongly encourage donations."
The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $950 million for cancer research.
You're welcome to bring your dog; however, they need to be on a short leash, but yes, you can run, walk, rollerblade, or bring your stroller for the 5km event.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. and the run starts at 10 a.m.
