After 22 offences and robbing multiple convenience stores in Winnipeg, a 23-year-old has been arrested.
At 11:26 p.m. on September 8, East District General Patrol officers arrested the suspect near the intersection of Henderson Highway and Trent Avenue after receiving a report that he had robbed a convenience store at knifepoint in the 300 block of Henderson Highway.
Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and linked him to 21 other shoplifting and robbery incidents involving several city convenience stores between July 22 to September 8.
Through the investigation, officers were able to link the suspect to each of the prior incidents.
He faces the following charges:
- Seven counts of robbery
- Nine counts of possession of a weapon
- Uttering threats
- Theft under $5,000
- Four counts of failure to comply with probation order
He was detained in custody awaiting further disposition.
