Another long adjournment in a Swift Current fentanyl trafficking trial.

The trial for 26-year-old Swati Narula and 28-year-old Kunwardeep Singh of Calgary is adjourned until March 2nd.

The case had already been adjourned for five months after their most recent appearance in April.

This time the adjournment came at the request of Singh's lawyer.

A witness he wanted to call for the preliminary inquiry was not available on Tuesday.

The earliest date each lawyer and both necessary witnesses would be available is in early March.

RCMP took Narula and Singh into custody after seizing more than 17 pounds of fentanyl near Swift Current in January.

They each face one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Singh was granted bail on February 20 on a $25,000 bond, while Narula was released from custody on March 4 on a $10,000 cash bond.

Singh's lawyer today successfully lobbied to have his bail conditions loosened to accomodate his job as a truck driver in the Calgary area.

He is now allowed to be within a 200-kilometer perimeter of Calgary, and his curfew has been reduced to 11:00 pm to 6:00 am each day.
