At the latest Rocky View Schools (RVS) board of trustee meeting, the trustees heard a report on maintenance projects done throughout RVS during the 2024/25 school year.
According to "The Brief", RVS operations department completed a wide range of projects to ensure school facilities remain safe, welcoming and well-equipped to support learning.
"To address enrolment growth and provide additional classroom space, modular classrooms were added at several schools across the division."
Maintenance projects included washroom renovations, new flooring and roof replacements, HVAC system upgrades, and the addition of air conditioning units in several modular classrooms.
"In what was a very busy year for the department, significant and necessary maintenance projects were completed to support students, staff and school communities."
At the first trustee meeting of the school year, Board Chair Fiona Gilbert welcomed students and staff back for the 2025/26 school year, offering the Board’s best wishes for a successful and fulfilling year ahead.
According to RVS, they were projecting to have 29,730 students, which would be an increase of 487 students from last year.
RVS did share that these are only preliminary numbers, with the final count being determined at the end of September.
