Current details:
Favourable conditions continue for severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rainfall.
Storms have already moved into southwestern Manitoba from Saskatchewan and North Dakota, and some could reach severe levels.
Potential impacts include roof, fence and tree damage, along with risks to soft shelters. Rapidly rising water may also sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure.
Environment Canada says when thunder roars, head indoors. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions favour the development of storms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or heavy rain.
