Update – Burton “Cody” Campbell is now in custody after turning himself in to Winnipeg Police Friday,

Portage la Prairie RCMP say an assault took place on September 3 around 3:45 a.m. at a home on 11th Street NW.
Officers arriving at the scene found an injured woman at the door. Police say she reported that a man known to her broke into the home, assaulted her, and then fled. Children were also inside the residence during the incident.
EMS later transported the victim to hospital for further treatment.
Warrant issued
RCMP have now issued a warrant for Burton “Cody” Campbell, a 39-year-old man from Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Campbell faces charges of breaking and entering with intent, assault while choking, suffocating or strangling, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order.
