The Airdrie Urban Farm Collective is seeking a new location for next year.
Once this growing season ends, the collective must move out of their current spot at the Daybreak Community Church.
Jana Hooper, board member and volunteer with the collective, talked about the move they will have to make.
"We are looking for a new place to lay our beds (garden beds). Daybreak Church has been absolutely wonderful to us for the last five growing seasons, and we can't sing their praises enough. But, it is time for the piece of land we are on to be developed, and now we are looking for a new home."
According to Hooper, the collective is in talks with local businesses and the city as they are looking for a new home.
"We don't have anything confirmed at this point."
Hooper shared that Many Airdronians meet new people here and become friends while learning how to grow food and save money. We also donate lots of food to the food bank when we have extra."
When asked how big a piece of land they are looking for, Hooper shared 100 feet by 100 feet would be ideal, but something a bit larger or smaller would be fine
She explained the collective is closing in on its goal of donating 1000 pounds of food.

The community-run garden was built on donations as they gather each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Tuesday nights during the summer (6 p.m. until 8 p.m.) to take care of the garden; anybody is allowed to join the collective.
