Burton “Cody” Campbell is now in custody after turning himself in to Winnipeg Police.

Portage la Prairie RCMP searching for male wanted for assaulting female
Media Release - September 11, 2025
On September 3, 2025, at approximately 3:45 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a dispatch for an assault that had taken place on 11th Street NW.
Officers responded and were met at the door by an injured adult female.
The victim advised officers that a male known to her had broken into the residence, assaulted her, and fled the scene. There were also children in the residence at the time of the assault.
EMS transported the victim to hospital for further treatment.
RCMP have issued a warrant of arrest for 39-year-old Burton “Cody” Campbell from Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Campbell is facing the following charges:
- Breaking and entering with intent
- Assault while choking, suffocating or strangling
- Fail to comply with release order condition x4
