An individual is facing numerous charges after the Moose Jaw RCMP Crime Reduction Team made a drug bust on Sept. 9 in Moose Jaw after a drug trafficking investigation.
The investigation was a month-long, before officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Main Street in Moose Jaw. Police seized 2.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, 386 grams of crack cocaine, 112 grams of fentanyl, 58 grams of MDMA (also known as ecstasy), and $3,655 in cash.
“This is the first significant drug seizure since we integrated the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Moose Jaw Crime Reduction Team with the Moose Jaw Police Service. Interoperability is the basis of the SERT program, whose mandate is to fight serious crime with active and intelligence-led operations around the province. This integration benefits everyone. The SERT program has more reach, and residents are safer for it,” said Staff-Sergeant Kory Davidsen, Senior Investigative Officer of the Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams in a press release.
Anurag Reji, 21, of India is facing charges including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Reji appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Sept. 10. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on Sept. 15.
