The City of Grande Prairie is proud to host the 4th annual GirlZone on Saturday, October 4, 2025, welcoming girls ages 10 to 15 for a day of discovery and connection.
GirlZone has grown into a signature event where participants can step outside their comfort zones, try new activities and build confidence in a supportive setting. The program is designed to keep girls engaged in recreation during their teen years while fostering friendships and a sense of belonging.
“GirlZone has become a highlight for many young people in our community,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton, City of Grande Prairie. “It’s about opening doors, sparking new interests and showing girls that their place in sport and recreation matters.”
Participants will be divided into five groups of 20 to 25 girls. New to the 2025 program, an optional group is available for ages 13 to 15 to support a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. Each of the groups will visit seven of the ten available stations showcasing a mix of sports, skills and cultural experiences.
