Kindersley RCMP identify driver after damaged abandoned truck near Eatonia sparks search

RCMP are investigating after a damaged pickup truck was discovered abandoned in west-central Saskatchewan near the community of Eatonia.

Kindersley RCMP say they received a report of a possible collision in the Rural Municipality of Chesterfield around 8 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Officers arrived to find a blue pickup in a ditch in a rural area, but no one inside. Police searched the area extensively, using a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, but did not immediately locate the occupant or occupants.

After further investigation, police say the driver has since been identified and no injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing.
