The City of Weyburn has provided an update on the construction progress at King Street and Highway 35. The full structural rebuild is part of the province’s Urban Highway Connector Program (UHCP) and has fully closed the road between First Avenue Northwest and Fifth Avenue North.

The project, initially slated for completion before the beginning of the school year, was delayed due to unexpected structural concerns and weather delays.

The city recently announced that the project has reached its final phase, and paving is now underway. Crews began at the north end of Highway 35 and will advance south to First Avenue northeast. The 2.4 kilometres of new asphalt will be open for public use in early October, weather permitting.

The city of Weyburn extends their appreciation to residents along the worksite, all local drivers, and neighbouring organizations for their patience, cooperation, and partnership throughout the duration of the project.
