The Moose Jaw Warriors kick off their 2025–26 campaign this Friday on the road against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Then, the long-awaited home opener follows on Saturday at Temple Gardens Centre, against those same Wheat Kings.

The Warrior's have something special planned to mark the occasion; pre-game tailgate party outside the arena.

“We have a handful of local food trucks that'll be outside the rink,” said Olivia Howe, director of business operations with the Warriors.

“We'll have some live music — Ray Rawlyk will be popping by to play some tunes for everyone. So come early, get some food and then we'll head inside for the game.”

The opener is set for Saturday, September 20, and to give the festivities the room they need, the City of Moose Jaw is setting up a temporary closure in front of the Temple Gardens Centre.

From 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., 1st Avenue NW will be closed to traffic from Manitoba Street to High Street W. Additionally, the 1st Avenue NW and River Street W intersection will be closed during the event.

Those with a keen eye may have noticed some changes coming to Saturday night games this season.

“For our Saturday games, we’re going with a 6 p.m. puck drop this year,” Howe explained. “We’re hoping that will attract more families, get everyone in the rink a little bit earlier and send them home a little bit sooner as well.”

Along with the live music and local cuisine, there is the opportunity to win big in the Warriors Super 50/50 draw. Tickets are available at the Warriors business office for $100 apiece and, should all 2,000 get sold, the winner will walk away with $100,000.
