Foothills County is inviting the public to voice their concerns or support regarding a second proposed anaerobic biodigester facility during a public hearing tomorrow (Sept. 17).

Taurus Canada Renewable Natural Gas Corporation is proposing that the new facility be built on land approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the Town of Nanton in the southeast corner of Foothills County.

If approved, the facility will process livestock waste from Chinook Feeders and break it down to produce renewable natural gas.

At full operation, up to 190,000 tonnes of manure will be processed each year.

The public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Foothills County administration building in High River.

Foothills County approved the Rimrock Renewables biodigester outside of High River in June.
