Vulcan County is being recognized for its 2025 Annual Budget Report.
The county received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
To receive the award, a municipal government must publish a budget document that meets the program’s criteria as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications tool.
Criteria included presenting issues and solutions, ensuring the budget overview is concise, describing long-range financial plans and goals, discussion on major capital projects, and breaking out revenues by expenditure type.
“The purpose of the Annual Budget Report is to provide our community with a clear and transparent insight into the development of our budget,” Vulcan County said in the report. “It also provides an opportunity to analyze and comment on the budget highlights, information about the county, and the outlook for the future.”
In addition to the award, Vulcan County also received a special recognition for the Strategic Goals & Strategies” presentation.
