Over the weekend, the Special Olympics Airdrie held its awards ceremony, with its busy season now over.
Susan Farkas-Fillatre, Media Relations Coordinator with Special Olympics Airdrie, explained that it was a fun award ceremony.
"Super excited for all our athletes who worked so hard this past year. And of course, so happy for all the athletes who win awards this year."
According to Farkas-Fillatre, these are the athletes who won awards (last names withheld for confidentiality):

- Basketball
- Most improved - Pamela
- Sportsmanship - Cael
- Floorball
- Most improved - Rhett
- Sportsmanship - Joshua
- Bowling
- Most improved - Ester

- Swimming
- Most improved - Kaiya
- Sportsmanship - Nolan
- Bocci Ball
- Most improved - Lizza
- Sportsmanship - Jordan

She explained it was a special year for many athletes.
"Many of our athletes experienced going to provincials this year and brought home many medals."
