Yesterday, Nose Creek Elementary School received a $750 donation that will be used to help out their leadership program.
Andrew Doyle, the principal at the school, explained that they received the donation from Davis Chevrolet GMC Buick.
"We were thrilled to accept and put towards some of our student leadership programs."
He explained that each grade has always shown its own form of natural leadership, and with students now remaining at the school for grade five, this donation provides them with the opportunity to grow into leadership roles and define what it means to be a grade five leader.
"Our hope here is that this gives them a bit of a boost to dream big and have ideas of what leadership looks like in grade five."
Anthony and Lily, grade five students at the school, explained that some funds will be used for different things, like lunch clubs, school swag, and guest speakers.
"It will benefit all students", explained Anthony.
Tnoy Weigel with Davis Chevrolet explained that a recent promotion has allowed them to donate to a number of schools in Airdrie.
"Going to all the schools, saying hi to people, and seeing how it brightens up their day and how we can make a difference in the community is great."
In total, the local business donated $16,750 to 23 local schools.
