A stretch of Highway 9 has reopened after being closed for several hours overnight due to a motor vehicle collision near Highway 566 east of Balzac.
511 Alberta first reported the crash just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, saying the highway was shut in both directions and emergency crews were on scene.

The closure remained in effect through the night, with an update at 4:26 a.m. Thursday, noting the road was still blocked.
At 7:58 a.m., 511 Alberta reported the highway had reopened.
