Arrest Warrant

In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were held in custody (one of which at BCC), and the third was released on an Appearance Notice.

 

Break & Enter

On September 17th there was a break and enter to a garage in the 300 block of 3rd Street. Damage occurred and goods were stolen. Should anyone have information please contact the Brandon Police Service (BPS) at 204-729-2345.

 

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon / Failure to Comply Weapons Prohibition

On September 17th at approximately 4:30 p.m. police were called to a disturbance outside a business in the 000 block of 10th Street. A 38-year-old male was located inside and noted to have an imitation handgun protruding from his back pocket. The male was arrested, held at BPS and will attend court in the morning.

 

Breach of Conditions /Theft Under $5000

On September 17th at 10:42 p.m. police were informed of a male sleeping on a lawn in the 1600 block of 8th Street. The 31-year-old male was located and found to be in possession of a knife, contrary to his Probation Order. The male was arrestable for previous Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Undertaking (not to attend store) charges that occurred earlier that morning. He was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning.

 

Assault / Failure to Comply Undertaking

On September 17th at approximately 11:25 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 300 block of 17th Street. A female reported that she was in bed when a male known to her entered the room, began yelling at her to leave, and proceeded to strike her multiple times in the head. The female was able to escape to the backyard and called 911.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. However, just over an hour later, police were notified that the male had returned and was banging on the back door of the residence. Officers attended the scene and arrested the male without incident. The 63-year-old male was found to be bound by an Undertaking not to attend the residence. He was held in BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court in the morning.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order

On September 18th at approximately 2:58 a.m., police received a report of a woman passed out on a lawn in the 400 block of 12th Street. Officers attended and located the female, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. She was transported to BPS detention cells for her safety. It was found that the woman was bound by a Release Order with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. She was found to be in breach of this condition. The 24-year-old female was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in the morning.
