The 2025 Canadian Disc Golf Championship, held September 12–14 in Port Hope, Ontario, brought together top players from across the country—and a few from the U.S.—for a competitive weekend on three diverse courses. Moose Jaw’s Drew Biette was among them, finishing around 37th overall.
“I didn’t have the best rounds I wanted to, but it was a cool experience,” Biette said. “You’re competing against the top of Canada, and it’s interesting to see how others play and where small mistakes happen.”
The courses varied in difficulty, with one heavily wooded layout and two more open, familiar styles. Biette found his stride in the final round. “I was able to come back from a rough start and shoot decently. There were a few holes where I could’ve blown up, but I managed to save par or bogey.”
While the trip didn’t leave much time for sightseeing, Biette appreciated the change of scenery. “It’s beautiful out there—lots of tall buildings, definitely not as flat as back home.”
With the season now wrapped, Biette is shifting focus to volleyball and work, but he’s already planning for next year. “I’m turning pro next season. That means fewer local events and more big tournaments with tougher competition and bigger cash prizes.”
Off-season training will focus on refining form and building core strength. “If your technique’s off, your throws won’t be right. I’ll be working on form and putting a lot more in this winter.”
The 2026 season kicks off next spring, and Biette is ready. “It should be a good year. I’m looking forward to it.”
