As of January 2022, over 94% of the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  

In newly updated statistics from the Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU), the region is trending positively with the amount of confirmed administered COVID-19 vaccine doses.  

In the region, the 12+ age group is confirmed to be at 99.2% of people having at least one dose, 94.4% of people having at least two doses, and 44.5% of people with a booster shot.  

For people in the 5+ group, 94.7% of people have at least one dose, 85.5% of people have at least two doses, and 42.1% of people have a booster shot.  

And looking at the stats for all people in one group 0+, 89.1% of people have at least one dose, 80.4% of people have at least two doses, and 38.1% of people have a booster shot.  

The NWHU says that 169,743 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of January 17, 2022.  

In comparison to the provincial numbers for Ontario – 83.5% of all people in Ontario have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 77.8% of all people in Ontario are fully vaccinated.
