The Bronco boys hockey team took on the TA Saints last night at the Kenora Rec Centre.  Tallen Caron and Marcus Morriseau were the goal scorers in a 2 - 0 win. James Sinclair played well in the net to get the shutout. 

It was a successful weekend for Sharks swimmer Émilia Mastromatteo as she prepares to compete in her first National competition-Commonwealth Game Trials April 5-10. Mastromatteo competed this past weekend in Winnipeg at the ManSask Championships. It was an opportunity to adapt her race strategies and compete long course as she prepares for Nationals in Victoria in 3 weeks. Mastromatteo took home 3 Golds, a Silver, and a bronze.

Kenora's Special Olympic Bowlers are back on the lanes. They've been practicing for their virtual regional bowling championship the past few weeks. Leading the pack in the first half of the competition is Daley Ross with 210, Patrick Medicine with 201, Diana Vivian with 171, and with MVP - Eddie Zroback with 90. The competition will continue and conclude next Monday night. 

Brad Marchand scored two goals, including the overtime game-winner, as the Boston Bruins notched a 3-2 comeback win over the Montreal Canadiens. Nathan MacKinnon scored 52 seconds into overtime to help the Colorado Avalanche top the Edmonton Oilers 3-2. 

Marc-Andre Fleury heading to the Minnesota Wild highlighted what was a more quiet N-H-L trade deadline day. The Wild acquired Fleury in a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, giving up a conditional first-round pick in this year's draft to acquire the defending Vezina Trophy winner.

And it’s a busy night in the NHL with 11 games on the schedule, after yesterday’s Trade deadline. The Winnipeg Jets made a few moves yesterday, including keeping UFA Paul Stasny but shipping out UFA Andrew Copp to the Rangers for a few picks.

They then traded back for former Jet Mason Appleton from Seattle, and 27-year-old forward Zach Sanford from the Sens. The Jets also traded the contract of veteran centre Bryan Little to the Coyotes, and moved Nathan Beaulieu to the Penguins.

The new-look Jets will take to the ice tonight against the Golden Knights at 7. Other Canadian teams include the Senators vs the Islanders, the Oilers are up against the Stars, and the Flames take on the Sharks in the late game.

Kerri Einarson's Canadian rink will square off against Japan later today at the women's world curling championship in Prince George, British Columbia. Canada is coming off an 8-4 victory against Denmark yesterday and is carrying its 3-and-2 record against a strong Japanese team that's lost just once so far with a 4-and-1 record.

The Toronto Blue Jays' Grapefruit League season will continue later today when they host the New York Yankees at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida. Japanese lefty Yusei Kikuchi is expected to make his spring debut for the Jays.
