Lake of the Woods water level is expected to continue dropping over the next week.
The Lake of the Woods Control Board issued a water level update on March 23, 2022. The current level of Lake of the Woods is 322.45 m (1057.9 ft) putting the lake in the 45th percentile for this time of the year.
The average lake level for Lake of the Woods declined by 3cm (1 in) over the past week and it is expected to continue to drop another 1-2 cm (1 in) over the next week.
The Control Board has authorized the outflow of the lake to increase from 425 m³/s to 450 m³/s. The adjustment is scheduled to take place today, March 24, 2022.
As a result of the change of outflow, the Winnipeg River is expected to rise 6 cm (2 in). No level change is expected in Minaki.
The current level of Lac Seul is 354.68 m (1163.6 ft), a 30th percentile level for this time of year. Lake level was stable over the past week and is expected to change a little over the next week.
The Lac Seul authorized outflow is 150 m³/s with no changes currently scheduled.
