Peter ‘Peaches’ Blackhawk (Gichigaanweyaash) Dotem Kingfisher August 14, 1971 – April 24, 2022 Peter was a resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at his residence. He was predeceased by his parents Joyce Blackhawk and Patrick Katcheconias, grandparents Jim and Winni Blackhawk and Maude and Kenneth Katcheconias. He was also predeceased by his siblings Julie McKeever, Patrick Blackhawk (Shigaanweyaash) and Donald Ballyk, aunties Nancy and Agnes Katcheconias and aunties Nancy and Meta Blackhawk, uncles Joseph Katcheconias, Steven, Donald, Bobby, Ronnie and Joseph Blackhawk. He is survived by his son Jonah Blackhawk, his siblings Patricia (Gizhibaasigeg) (Ian), Grace (Ajidaamoo) (Philip), Percy Giizhe-Maandoo and Nancy (Ajidaamoos), aunt Clare Katcheconias, uncle Stanley Blackhawk, ex-spouse Debbie Mandaminm his nieces and nephews Jessica Stary, Savannah, Donald, Chantal, Jesse, Diane, Shane, Rebecca, twins Clarenda and Kenny and Martha Blackhawk, Cheryl and Alwyn Jr. Cowley, Elizabeth and Josephine Lyman, Lane Anderson, Jeremy Marcus and Aidan Lucas Neganegijig-Ballyk. Peter was a special and caring gentleman, he was a very sociable, independent and well known for his art. He enjoyed the littlest things life had to offer such as laughing, smiling, sharing, and giving of anything he could share or give. He was a selfless gentle soul. Meta our aunty played a huge part in Peter’s life raising him from a little boy to the man he had become. Peter loved his son Jonah who made him the happiest father. He enjoyed his days when with his son teaching, sharing and giving Jonah his undivided attention. The street family of Winnipeg Main Street taught him how to be the survivor he was. A wake service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Norman Community Club, Kenora, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 am at Norman Community Club with cremation to follow.
