Temperature records were shattered Sunday across southern Manitoba. Environment Canada is reporting that 18 weather stations set new marks on Sunday for the hottest June 19 on record.

All of this and it is not even officially summer yet. Summer will arrive on Tuesday at 4:14 am.

According to Environemt Canada's Danielle Desjardins, Monday will be the last day of hot and muggy weather before things change. And, that change will likely come in the form of a thunderstorm. In fact, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for many parts of southern Manitoba at around 1 pm. Desjardins says these thunderstorms could produce heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail measuring two to four centimetres.

After Monday, Environment Canada is calling for two days where the temperature will be closer to seasonal normals. The normal high for this time of year is 25 degrees. Tuesday's high is 24, followed by Wednesday at 25. Then, on Thursday and Friday, temperatures are expected to climb back to at least 30 degrees, before returning back to normal for the weekend.
