Susan was born on the lake in Fish Narrows and grew up in Big Grassy. She later made Iskatewizaagegan #39 her home. She loved the lake life, nurturing her garden, reeling in the big bass, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.  Susan was an athlete who played college fastball where she would stun players with her windmills.  Soon, she would cross the path of the soon-to-be love of her life, Fred Greene.  Together they became a force to reckon with in the bass fishing community, they had also coordinated the Shoal Lake Bass Classic for many years, an event in which they enjoyed spending time with their fishing family every year including special friends, Pat and Virginia Handorgan.

Susan had a love of education and as an elected council she worked hard to provide many educational opportunities for the members of Iskatewizaagegan #39.  As an empathetic person with a knack for bringing people together and developing solutions, she was also an excellent facilitator, a role in which she shared her talents all over treaty 3 territory.   Everyone that had crossed her path would agree that she had left meaningful and positive impacts on their lives, in the humble way she treated everyone with love and respect. She was one of a kind. To quote grand-daughter Naya, “you will forever be the jam to my toast”.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm June 23, 2022, at the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Kenora, Ontario.  Honorary pallbearers are Wade Greene, Paul Greene, Reno Cameron, Aaron Balan, Addison Greene, Rainer Bunn, Jumaine Greene, Nimkii Cameron, Patrick Handorgan Jr., Tom Adams, Joseph (Joey) Adams, and Christopher Kelly.
