Brenda Susan White

March 3, 1965 – July 8, 2022
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Waasaagiizhigook, Miigwanikwe, Brenda Susan White, age of 57 who was a proud member of Naotkamegwanning First Nation. Brenda peacefully left for the spirit world on July 8, 2022 with her partner Colin James Bird by her side at LOTWDH.
She leaves behind her loved ones; siblings Leonard White, Linda Booth, and Roland White – her children Paul Ashley James, and Diana Rollande Denise and her precious grandchildren, Mandy Heavenly, Thunder Lazar, Brooklyn Honor, Eden Marie, Kendall Norahjir, Zendaya and Emma - her latest addition to the family, her dog “Stoodis”; Brenda also leaves behind many of her close friends, numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
Brenda is predeceased by her parents Harry and Nora White (Redsky), her son Thunder Ashlen Wayne White and her grandson.
Brenda enjoyed visiting her family, friends, mostly her grandchildren. She enjoyed powwows and listening to the sound of the drum and enjoyed dancing. Brenda loved travelling and driving around anywhere at anytime with her partner Colin and their dog “Stoodis”.
The family would like to say Miigwetch to Mino Giizhigad Elders Centre and the nurses and homemakers for their care and support provided to Brenda, also to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for the care Brenda received; The family would also like to say Miigwetch to Peter “Alo” White Mide Ki’Wenzi for providing his guidance and support for the family. The family would like to extend their thanks to the friends, family and community members who offered their support and condolences during this time.
The Traditional Midewin Wake and Funeral ceremony will be conducted by Mide'kiwenzie of Ki'eshgitabaaning and his Midewiin helpers. Wake ceremony to be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 8:00 PM at the Netaawgonebiik Health Centre in Naotkamegwanning First Nation and Funeral Ceremony to follow on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Netaawgonebiik Health Centre.
