William “Bill” Stanley Radford

1947 – 2022

On July 19th, 2022 William Stanley Radford passed away at the age of 75 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Bill was born on May 16th, 1947 in MacGregor, Manitoba to Herbert John and Evelyn Betsy Radford (Poyser). He was the youngest son and child. He received his early childhood educators at Southend School and later MacGregor Collegiate. Graduating from MacGregor Collegiate in June, he wasted no time and started his life career with Manitoba Hydro that July.

During his career he was stationed at several locations including northern Manitoba, Altona, MacGregor, and Beausejour. While at Altona during the early 1980’s, he obtained his pilot’s license and a plane. Many family members enjoyed a plane ride.

In 1987, he was stationed at Beausejour and that became his retirement home. Following early retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his beautiful yard and taking motorcycle rides.

His love of math and science along with his generous nature will leave a legacy that will continue to benefit many students by the scholarships in Maths and Science that he founded in MacGregor, Beausejour, and now Portage la Prairie.

He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund that Bill set up. Donations may be sent to the “Hometown Fund”, North Norfolk MacGregor Foundation Inc. Box 696, MacGregor, MB, R0H 0R0

As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
