The pro rodeo at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede gets underway today and there will be no shortage of talent from the southwest.
Eatonia’s Dakota Buttar and Maple Creek's Jared Parsonage will be competing in tonight’s bull riding round, just weeks after they squared off in Showdown Sunday at the Calgary Stampede where Dakota came away as the co-champion.
Hazenmore’s Chanse Switzer and Lancer’s Chad Hartman are also in the bull riding.
Also competing are Blake Link and Wyatt Maines of Maple Creek and Dantan Bertsch of Tompkins in bareback, Jesse Popescul of Glentworth in tie-down roping, Riley Hayes of Val Marie in the steer wrestling, Stewart Valley’s Janet Moen and Maple Creek’s Kerry Maynes in barrel racing, Lily Wilson of Maple Creek in breakaway roping, and Waldeck’s Tuftin, Tyce and Tee McLeod in team roping.
The rodeo continues until Saturday.
Meawhile, rodeo action continues this weekend with the 34th Herbert Stampede CCA approved rodeo, with performances at 6:00pm on Friday and 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
