Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Grassy Narrows, Whitedog, Nestor Falls and Morson.
Rain at times heavy continuing through this afternoon.
Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are possible. Locally higher amounts are also possible for areas that receive multiple thunderstorms.
This rainfall is due to a slow moving area of showers and thunderstorms that is expected to track east across the area today.
For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe.
