Dryden's Splash Park is now open!

An opening ceremony was held Friday morning, just a few months after the project was first announced.

"From inception to completion was five months, with the actual construction taking 29 days. It came together very quickly," said Nick Beyak, Beyak Group President.

Northwestern Ontario’s Beyak Automotive Group donated $230,000 to develop a 2,800 square-foot Splash Park at the Rotary Park Complex on Wice Road, near New Prospect School. The City of Dryden contributed about $17,000 to cover the remaining costs.

Beyak says he wanted to create a fun destination for the community of Dryden.

"It was Holly's, our Marketing & Public Relations Manager, idea. She came up with the idea to create a splash park. We then work things out with the City of Dryden and there were very willing partners from day one and then our Facilities Manger, Tyson Dennis, led the project," added Beyak.

The Splash Park is an accessible and inclusive play space, which was added to the existing Rotary Park amenities and will enhance physical, social and sensory development in youth of all ages. It includes 18 sprayers in a roughly 2,800-square-foot spray area.

The Dryden Splash Park will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed for the season on September 15, 2022 and open for the next season on the May Long weekend.
