James Morrison, 83, of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022, with his three kids by his side. Jim was born on August 15, 1939, to Bill and Sarah Morrison. He was raised on the homestead farm at N.W. 6-6 23W. His first job was with the town of Hartney and the roads department.
Later he moved to Moose Jaw, where he met his lovely wife Trudy at a curling rink. They were married in 1980 and remained together until her passing earlier this year. After retiring from the Pioneer Grain Elevator, he drove a school bus for 18 years and the kids absolutely loved him.
Jim is predeceased by his wife Trudy, father Bill and mother Sarah. Jim is survived by his brother George (Jean); his son Michael (Nancy); Daughters Jacki and Shelley (Cornell); step-daughters Cheryl (Don), Ardis (Gary); step-son Bryan; step-daughter-in-law Wendy (Randy) along with many many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Jim will be remembered most by his sense of humor, love of sports and his kind gentle demeanor. He was a member of the Elks, an avid curler (with many trophies to back it up), a pilot, a 29-year season ticket holder with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, a devoted Toronto Blue Jays Fan and a fisherman. He also loved to help Trudy in the garden as it put him at the front of the line for “toasted tomato sandwich” season.
A celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel Saturday November 5, 2022, at 1:00pm. Those wishing to view the recorded service can click on the link https://youtu.be/e2_E8p5jzQI
