The municipal and school board election is over, taking place Wednesday, but some councils in the region still have vacancies to fill.
- In the R.N. of Stanley, there is one available seat in Ward 2
- Two positions remain vacant around the R.M. of Morris council table, along with one seat in the L.U.D. of Rosenort
- In the R.M. of Montcalm, a spot remains open in Ward 2 and on the L.U.D. of St. Jean committee
- One position is open on the L.U.D. of Plum Coulee committee in the Municipality of Rhineland
- The L.U.D. of Emerson in the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin is looking to fill 2 positions
- In the Municipality of Lorne, one spot remains open on the L.U.D. of Notre Dame, and two spots in the L.U.D. of Swan Lake
- In the Municipality of Louise, there is one vacancy on each of the L.U.D. committees for Crystal City and Pilot Mound
From a school board perspective:
- In Border Land School Division, there are 2 open trustees positions - one in Ward 2 and another in Ward 7
- There are two spots vacant in the Prairie Rose School Division - one in Ward 2 and the other in Ward 8
It will be up to the new respective councils and school boards to determine how to fill these positions. Options include holding a by-election and eligible community members applying through an interview process.
