A grandfather from Kenora has finally found some lottery success after 40 years of tickets. Glendon Loranger has won $250,000 on an Instant Scrabble.
“I’m a regular lottery player. I’ve been playing for 40 years,” Loranger, a retiree, said this is his first major win while he was at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque.
“I went to the store and used the ticket checker and saw Big Winner come up on the screen. I was completely shocked – I couldn’t believe it!”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Husky on Chipman Street. Loranger, a father of five and grandfather of three, says the first person he told was his son.
“He was so happy for me, and I think a little jealous,” he laughed.
Loranger says he plans to put a down payment on a home and purchase a new vehicle.
Congratulations!
