Raymond Albert Land (Doopy)
December 22, 1979 - October 27, 2022.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Raymond Land.
He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Land, brother Calamy Land, sister Laverna Land and grandparents John Robert Boyd Sr., Emma Wawence, Thomas Land Sr., Leah Land, uncles John Boyd, Kenneth Wawence, nephews Baby Cloud and White Little Eagle, cousins Elva McDonald, Reuben Hunter, Juliette Hunter, Keith Scott, Orvil Scott, Emma Muckle, Ernestine Muckle and Rose Boyd.
He is survived by his father Ray Wawence and step-mom Marsha Land, his sisters Donna Land, Raelyn Wawence and Leanna Wawence, common-law wife Selina Thomas Scott, grandma Harriet Bigblood, mother-in-law Sharon Thomas, sister-in-laws Geraldine Atkinson, Creelynn Scott, brother-in-law Rennie Scott, Selena’s aunties who loved Raymond, Lorraine Atkinson, Leona Atkinson, the three children he loved Bernice Scott, Constance Scott and Scott Jr., uncles Stanley Boyd, Richard, Oliver, Clarence and Roger Wawence, Albert Land (Doris), Tommy Land (Sandy), aunties Debbie Wawence, Leah Kakekagumick (Steven), Barbara Kejick (Perry), cousins Duncan Cameron, Whitney, Savina, Cynthia and Tricia Bigblood, Jeff Cowley, Clifford Muckle, Annette Cameron, Isaiah Mandamin (Cita), Ronnie Mandamin Jr. (Larrisa), Tara Land, Nathaniel Land (Maria), Nathan Land, Theodore Kejick (Lisa), Thomas Kejick (Sadie), Montanna Hernborg.
He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Miiangan Calamy Turtle the one he called brother, Juliette and family, Annekes and family, Avalie Mandamin, Macrae Mandamin, Thade Mandamin, Dabney Mandamin, Justine Mandamin, Clara Mandmain, Abby Land, Ariaha Bunting, Danika Land, Nakeesha Fisher, Shamelle Fisher, Ryaniia Kejick, Sarah Kejick, John Kejick, Caliah Bunting, William Kejick, Dylan Kejick and Kessel Scott, friends Eric Mandamin, Ronnie Bunting, Adrian Bunting, Jamie Mandamin and Patrick McDonald.
Raymond lived his life loving and enjoying the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and just walking in the outdoors enjoying the scenery nature provides. He was a very sociable and loved visiting friends, family and all his relatives. Raymond loved to laugh and tell jokes with his friends, he always had a smile on his face, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help, he was very well liked and will be greatly missed in his community.
The family would like to thank Kenora EMS, OPP, T3P and all of the Doctors and Nurses at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
A wake service will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School Gymnasium, Whitedog, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mizhakiiwetung Memorial School Gymnasium with interment to follow in Whitedog First Nation.
