A man who stole 45 specialty pigeons has been arrested.
According to Edmonton Police Service (EPS), a man entered a yard in the Cavanagh area on Oct. 18 with a medium-sized cage and left about a minute later with the birds.
Police have confirmed a 32-year-old was arrested and charged with theft over $5,000. The man's name has yet to be released.
"Public tips led to the identification of the suspect," EPS said in a release.
So far, 12 birds have been recovered and two were found dead.
Some of the birds were spotted in the Sherwood Park area.
