We have some local teams heading to high school football provincial playdowns.
The Ardrossan Bisons face off against the Valleyview Cougars at Emerald Hills Stadium at 1:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 11).
Sturgeon Spirits play the Whitecourt Cats at Graham Acres Field in Whitecourt at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The Spirits, who were also city champions, have had a perfect season so far with no losses.
"Our defense has been pretty dominant all year long. We've been able to grind some games out along the ground with some hard yards. We got a couple of pretty good running backs and an offensive line that's firing at all cylinders," said Chad Hill, coach of the Spirits.
The Salisbury Sabres go up against the Notre Dame Pride also at Emerald Hills Stadium in Sherwood Park. The game starts on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Winners move on to the provincial semi-finals on November 19.
