The Kenora Under 18 AAA Thistles have another win under their belt.
They hosted the Thrashers last night at the Kenora Rec Centre, where they outscored Winnipeg 5-4. Emerson Evans scored the first goal, followed by Carson Maffey and Nikolas Fagnili each earning two goals.
The Thistles will be on the road this weekend to face off against the Brandon Wheat Kings for a 2-game series.
It's time for single-A NWOSSA court sports action. The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints' senior girls' basketball team will be competing in Manitouwadge against the Wolverines for a shot at OFSAA.
The Saints' Senior Boys volleyball team won't have to go far as they'll be hosting Manitouwadge in a best-of-three series. Their first game will be at 12:30 with the second at 6:30. If the tiebreaker is needed, they will play tomorrow morning at 10.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros and Montreal Alouettes receiver Eugene Lewis are the nominees for the league's Most Outstanding Player award. Collaros, who will lead the Bombers against the Toronto Argonauts in Sunday's Grey Cup, won the award last season.
