The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints senior boys volleyball team is off to Sudbury to compete in OFSAA.

The team captured gold at the NWOSSAA Championships yesterday defeating the Manitouuwadge Wolverines in a best-of-three series. The Saints will travel to compete in the provincial championship on November 24th.

The Saints Senior Girls' basketball team will also be going to provincials. They defeated Manitouwadge in the final of a best-of-three series this morning 31-20 They'll head to Walkerton to compete in OFSAA next week.

The Dryden Eagles' Girls' Basketball team is in Thunder Bay to take on Hammarskjold for the NWOSSAA 'AA' Championship. They'll have one game today, with the second, and if needed, the third game tomorrow. The winner will go on to OFSAA in Stratford.

The Sioux North Warriors are hosting Westgate from Thunder Bay in NWOSSA Senior Boy's Volleyball. They'll play this afternoon with the deciding games tomorrow. The winner will go to Hunstville for OFSAA next week.

The Dryden Eagles Boys' Hockey team is welcoming teams from across the region for a 2-day, round-robin tournament starting today. The Eagles, Beaver Brae Broncos, Sioux North Warriors, Red Lake Rams and Vincent Massey Vikings from Brandon will battle it out for top spot at the Dryden Memorial Arena.

Zach Collaros claimed his second consecutive most outstanding player award to lead the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' haul of four trophies at the CFL Awards tonight.

Mike O'Shea earned coach of the year honours, Stanley Bryant was named the top lineman for a record fourth time and receiver Dalton Schoen took top rookie honours.

There is just one game in the NHL tonight as the Vancouver Canucks host the LA Kings.

The Canucks sit second-to-last in the Western Conference and have just two wins in six home games this season. The Kings have won seven of their last 10 games. Puck Drop's set for 9 p.m.
