Triple P.L.A.Y. in Kenora has over $20,000.00 going towards its initiative of giving all children the chance to participate in recreational sports after a successful Tim Hortons Cookie campaign.
Smile Cookie week ran September 19-25, and the community raised $22,696.33, making this the biggest proceeds the organization has received in the campaign's history.
"Thank you to everyone who participated. We had a lot of partners and sponsors. That's a lot of cookies! I can't say enough about the staff at Tim's. The hours they put in to make those cookies was incredible," says Triple P.L.A.Y. Coordinator Barry Reynard.
Last year's Smile Cookie week raised $18,775.30.
"This specifically helps us with registration for kids in need in Kenora and surrounding areas. Certainly, after a few tough years of COVID, we saw a lot of kids return to play, which is encouraging. For us to be able to help kids and families out in the sports, recreation, arts and culture areas continues to be a big priority for Triple P.L.A.Y," Reynard adds.
Triple P.LA.Y. has been selected for Tim's Smile Cookie Campaign again, which will be launched in the spring of the new year.
"We're hoping to ramp things up and push that total higher. Thank you, everyone!"
