A 17 year old has been charged after a vehicle-pedestrian collision Sunday afternoon in Winkler.
Police Chief Ryan Hunt says officers responded to the scene around 2:45 p.m. at the crosswalk in the 700 block of Main Street. They found a female lying on the roadway with unknown injuries, but conscious, with other motorists having stopped to care for the injured woman.
The investigation has determined the female was walking west across the street, had activated the crosswalk lights and was approximately halfway across the northbound lanes when she was struck by a northbound car. Paramedics arrived shortly after the collision, and transported the injured female to hospital.
The 17 year old driver of the car has been charged with operating a conveyance in a manner that is dangerous and causes bodily harm.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the collision.
