Arlene Elizabeth (née Harvey) Kish
July 27, 1948 – December 9, 2022

Arlene (née Harvey) Kish was born July 27, 1948 and passed away peacefully on December 9, 2022. She was 74 years of age. Arlene Kish was born July 27, 1948. She grew up on the family farm, in the Kildrum School District southeast of Bruno, Saskatchewan. She began school at Kildrum and then finished her education at Bruno High School. During her time as an organist at Zion Lutheran Church in Bruno, she met Gerald Kish. They married June 10, 1967, and lived on the family farm north of town, raising a family of two sons and one daughter, Wayne, Rhonda and Bryan. Arlene was exceptional with numbers and worked at the Bruno Credit Union, the Royal Bank, and Deloitte & Touche, and eventually started her own consulting business. She put millions of kilometers on her vehicles going from one end of the province to the other to help clients. A woman with a very caring Christian nature, Arlene was an organist for 40 years, a long time LWML member, a member of many Lutheran church boards serving in various capacities, and even the president of LWML Canada. She instilled the value of faith with her children and grandchildren through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, youth gatherings and various outreach programs as far away as La Ronge, SK. Arlene’s 20 years commitment to Telemiracle demonstrated her compassionate soul and in 2012 she was recognized for this service, receiving the Philanthropy award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Saskatoon Chapter. With her grandchildren by her side, she provided food hampers at Christmas time to those in need, helped friends and family almost daily their delivering groceries, taking them to appointments, and helping with any technology needs. One of her personal favorite hobbies was gardening. Every year she planted a large garden and gave fresh produce to many of her friends, family, and clients. She shared this love with her grandchildren and involved them in planting the garden many times. Her produce led to shelves full of canned goods. Baking was another passion for Arlene and her homemade donuts, pies, cakes, buns and poppy seed roll were loved by all. Arlene is survived by her husband, Gerald Kish; son Wayne (Connie) Kish and their children Ethan and Kayla; daughter Rhonda (Chris) Seidel and their children Jayden and Rylan; son Bryan (Laurie) Kish and their children Rianna and Megan; her mother, Theresa Harvey; brother Glenn (Linda) Harvey; sister Lynn Harvey, sister-in-law Gladys (Herb) Stephenson and sister-in-law Marianne (Doug) Rogerson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Harvey, and father and mother-in-law John and Irene Kish. The Funeral Service was held for Arlene on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Saskatoon, SK, presided over by Pastor Murray Keith. Others taking part were: Laura Neufeld, organist; Megan Kish, scripture reader; and Wayne Kish, Rianna Kish, and Ethan Kish, eulogists.
