During the 2021/2022 fiscal year, the STARS Air Ambulance flew 773 in our province, many of those missions were flown right here to the Pembina Valley.

Two representatives from STARS attended a recent RM of Stanley meeting to update council on STARS, and to thank them for their support.

The RM of Stanley provides $1.00/capita ($8,969) annually towards the non-profit organization.

In a statement, Reeve Ike Friesen said, "with the BTHC and the recent helipad that was constructed with local donated dollars, I think our community knows firsthand the value of
STARS."

He added the sight of the chopper brings mixed feelings, "that sick feeling of recognizing that someone is in trouble, and that feeling of gratitude that the stars service is available and providing the best care possible."
