Thomas Charles Young was born June 11, 1956 in Moose Jaw, Sask. The youngest of 4 siblings. Thom was very musical, and even without music lessons, he played in the Moose Jaw Pipe band for several years. He was an animal lover and always had dogs in his life from an early age, starting with Toby and only ended when he was unable to physically care for a dog, though he still adopted a cat in the later stage of his life.
He grew up to be a free thinker and during his younger years worked across Canada in a variety of roles. He spent a number of years in the hospitality sector, was a roadie in Winnipeg for a well known entertainer, and worked as a Water Technician, before settling down as a Quality Control Inspector in order to help raise a family.
Family was very important to Thom. He thought the world of his two children. He was a big help for his father during his final years and to his sisters when they were building their houses. Thom carried on a love of camping from his parents and would bring his family all over Saskatchewan in the summers when his kids were growing up. He spent his free time watching movies with his son, rescuing dogs in need with his daughter and cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders with his brother. His family will remember him dearly.
A gathering will be held at a later date.
