Ed was born and raised on a farm in the Glasnevin area. Ed was a hard worker as a Miner, Farmer, Salesman, and Construction Worker. Ed's favourite job of all was being retired. His natural talent was being Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Neighbour, and Friend. Ed met the love of his life Rose at a dance in Khedive and they were married in 1964. They made their home and raised their family on the family homestead near Glasnevin. Ed cherished time spent visiting with family and friends, whether over a shared meal, wedding or anniversary party, “Smiling Johnny” entertainment shows or a game of cards. He was a general leader for the 4H club before his family started growing, and supported his children in their various activities. Ed gave his children a great work ethic and then supported them all in the pursuit of the careers and vocations that they chose. Ed loved to share stories and would happily tell you how he "Almost won a new pickup truck, at a private fly in fishing tournament in Manitoba sponsored by Toyota". At the end of the day, that was one of many vacations that Ed and Rose enjoyed in retirement.
