It is with great sadness that the family of Gladys Kareen Davey (Trithart) announces her passing on Monday January 9th, 2023. Gladys is survived by her three children Allen (Sandra), Donald (Lynn), and Lorna (Tim) Tollefson; seven grandchildren Tyler (Trisha), Aletha (Josh), Brianna (Casey), Sarah (Thomas), Shelby (Gavin), Brett (Aubrey), and Lee (Kelsey); great grandchildren Elizabeth, Liam, Brayden, Lucas, Camden, Abby, Halle, Theodore, Everett, and Anne; siblings Elmer, Gerry, Daryl; sister in-law Cecile Davey and many special nephews and nieces. Gladys was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Dave Davey; also, her parents Ronald and Emma Trithart, siblings Greg and Linda; in-laws Kathy Trithart, Wilfred (Emma), Arthur (Verna) and Stephen Davey.
Gladys was born near Broadview SK on May 18th, 1935. She grew up on a farm near Oakshela, met Dave and then was married in 1955. They moved to Mazenod SK in 1958 where Dave worked as a Paterson grain buyer. They raised their three children in Mazenod. In 2003 Gladys and Dave moved to Moose Jaw. Gladys was very involved in the Mazenod community, belonging to many organizations. She worked for Home Care, Bouvier Greenhouse, and Mazenod toy factory. Gladys enjoyed raising her large garden and many flowers. She was a devout member of the Gravelbourg Lutheran Church, and enjoyed bowling, dancing, and baseball. In Moose Jaw she volunteered at the Cosmo center and Providence Place.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 17th, 2023, at 1:00pm at W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W Moose Jaw, SK. A private family internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Dr, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2, would be appreciated.
