It was a hard-fought game between the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Bombers in Sioux Lookout last night, as the home team squeaked out a 3-2 win.
Next up, the Ice Dogs will be taking on Fort Frances tomorrow while the Bombers are up against the Miners in Red Lake.
Beaver Brae’s hockey teams managed a split against the Dryden Eagles.
The Broncos boys followed up on their tournament win over the weekend in Winkler with a 4-2 victory over the Eagles last night. Connor Perron earned the win in net.
In the meantime, the Broncos girls were upended 10-1 by Dryden. Meaghan Lundmark had 5 points and Sophie Koshel had a hat trick.
The Eagle boys will be hosting Red Lake on Friday at 2 p.m. Next games for the Broncos will be on February 9 and February 15.
It was a clean sweep for St. Thomas Aquinas against the Northern Lake Voyageurs from Atikokan. The Saints Senior and junior girls’ volleyball teams both got the sweep.
In boys’ basketball, the TA junior squad got by Atikokan 58-53, while the Saints senior team cruised to an 80-29 victory.
