A $9,668 donation from the employee-owners at Friesens Corp. has lifted the spirits of healthcare workers in Altona and boosted their strength. That from Neelam Borrison, Manager of the Altona Community Memorial Health Centre who accepted the cheque at a presentation Wednesday.

Staff at Friesens selected the facility as the beneficiary of a giving initiative during their annual book fair this past January.

"Thank you for being our partner. We appreciate your generosity and the commitment you have expressed. Your generosity and confidence in our work means the world to us. Thank you for playing that important role," said Borrison.

Because of local businesses like Friesens and the support of people in the community, Borrison says staff are, and will, remain strong.

"Our care team members are working around the clock to deliver the highest quality patient care while trying to stay healthy themselves. Your donation helps us to reach and succeed in our goals," she added.
