Sean Reilly was in downtown Fort Saskatchewan when he caught an amazing sight - a hareĀ giving birth.
Reilly was on 100 Avenue on Friday (Apr. 21) afternoon to get a haircut when he was told that he would need to wait about 15 minutes. In the meantime, he went to get a snack.
"I walked by and saw this hare sitting there. It was looking pretty big, and it's not really afraid of me at all," said Reilly. "The convenience store was closed, and I still had 15 minutes to kill, so I said, 'Alright, I'll just stand on the corner and see if it does anything.'"
"All of a sudden it started having babies right there."
Reilly took some photos of the hare before heading to the courthouse down the street.
"I told them that I've got a weird situation going on and I don't really know what else to do," laughed Reilly. "They said they would call bylaw and they would handle it."
Reilly posted photos of the rabbit to Facebook, where the comments showed concern from residents.
"Aww poor momma. Hopefully, someone comes to take them to a safe spot," wrote one resident.
